Here is what a lot of shops miss about Spring. In Gleannloch Farms, Harmony, and Auburn Lakes, most doors are only 5 to 20 years old, so they rarely fail from age — they fail from cycle wear. A standard torsion spring is rated for about 10,000 cycles, roughly 7 to 10 years of normal use. But if your double door is the one the whole family uses instead of the front door, you can hit that number in four or five years — and builder-grade springs are not always rated for that traffic.
